The mobile racers we keep coming back to

Mobile racing lives or dies on feel, and feel is hard to fake. A good phone racer makes a corner feel like a decision, not a swipe. We've burned through a lot of them, and a few stuck around on our home screens.

Driftline Horizon is the one we argue about least. The tilt steering is forgiving without being floaty, and chaining drifts through its neon shortcuts never gets old. If you only install one racer this month, start there.

For something more relaxed, we leaned on arcade racers with assists you can toggle. The trick is finding the sweet spot between help and challenge; too many assists and you're just holding gas, too few and the phone fights you.

One tip for any mobile racer: spend five minutes in the settings before you judge it. Steering sensitivity and camera angle change everything, and the defaults are rarely ideal.
