Playing a mobile RPG without drowning in grind
Mobile RPGs love a grind. Sometimes it's rewarding, sometimes it's a slog dressed up as content. After a lot of hours in games like Ember of the Nine Realms, I've found a few ways to keep the fun and ditch the chore.
First, commit to one build early. Spreading your points thin makes every fight mushy. Pick a direction, lean into it, and respec later if the game lets you.
Second, don't chase every side quest at once. Do the ones with a story hook, skip the ten-identical-fetch quests until you actually need the rewards. Burnout usually comes from completionism, not the game itself.
Finally, set a stopping point per session. The best moment to quit an RPG is right after a level-up, when you feel strong, not two hours later when you're staring at a loading screen.
